Following the cancellation of KS2 SATs for the second year running, another cohort of Year 7 has just started secondary school without KS2 prior attainment scores.
This 2-part webinar series provides insight into the key concepts behind our Cognitive Abilities Test, CAT4, and how it can be used as part of a wider assessment strategy.
In addition, we look at the Year 7 Transition Service now offered by GL Assessment and FFT.
The webinar is presented by James Swindell, former Deputy Head and now an Education Advisor with GL Assessment.

- Building an action plan and how to integrate CAT4 across your school
- An introduction to the FFT Year 7 Transition Service and how to use CAT4 data in FFT Aspire to produce KS4 estimates
About the presenter: James Swindell
James qualified as a primary school teacher in 2012 after completing a degree in Education Studies and Sport at Manchester Metropolitan University and his teacher training through the Graduate Teacher Training Programme. James spent eight years teaching in Staffordshire, moving on to gain experience as an Assistant and Deputy Head Teacher. Working within education, James has witnessed the immeasurable impact of high-quality assessment and analysis of pupils’ progress and attainment. James is now committed to supporting schools to get the most out of their assessment tools in order to have the greatest impact on pupil outcomes.
