Getting transition right

The absence of national data at key stages 1 and 2 has given many primary schools the opportunity to re-think their approach to assessment and data as we look to the new school year – for improving reading, for instance, identifying children with SEND and supporting wellbeing and behavioural needs.
How can we help
  • Using standardised assessments to identify gaps in pupils’ reading - New Group Reading Test (NGRT)
  • Establish a clear baseline and accurately measure current attainment levels in maths, English, science and reading - Progress Test Series (PT Series), New Group Reading Test (NGRT)
  • Identify potential barriers to learning and understanding pupils’ attitudes to learning - Pupil Attitudes to Self and School (PASS)
  • Determine which pupils might need additional support and plan appropriate support measures - Rapid, COPS and LASS
  • Identify speech and language needs - WellComm
NGRT has been an invaluable complement to teacher judgement and ensures we have information in the absence of national data.
