David Watts

David joined the business in 2021. After supporting the sale of GL Education to Renaissance, his role then focused on delivering financial planning and analysis for the merged Renaissance Global business and developing his team to ensure the additional financial complexities of the combined organisation are managed appropriately. 

As Head of Commercial Finance, David oversees the team that are responsible for setting our financial targets, then tracking and explaining our performance verses those targets. The team also track key performance indicators that enable us to understand how well we are meeting the needs and expectations of our customers. Additionally, his team assess any proposed investments to ensure they represent good value for both our customers and our business. 

Before joining the organisation, David worked in various commercially-focused finance roles in a range of sectors including Telco, media and business services. He has experience of several different company structures including private equity-owned, FTSE 100 plc and public bodies. 

David qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the Ernst & Young London audit office after completing his Management Science degree at Loughborough University.
