KS3 Assessment Package

Seven of our leading assessments together provide you with a simple, reliable and consistent way of benchmarking and confidently tracking your students’ progress at transition and throughout Key Stage 3.

The KS3 Assessment Package is a powerful combination of our Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4), Progress Test Series (English, maths and science), New Group Reading Test (NGRT), New Group Spelling Test (NGST) and Pupil Attitudes to Self and School (PASS), our attitudinal survey.

Together they enable you to: baseline your students and identify hidden potential at transition; track attainment in core subjects throughout Key Stage 3 (over two years or three) and gauge the attitudes and mindset of your pupils so you can also identify and address any barriers to learning.

The KS3 Assessment Package is available to schools in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

How the Key Stage 3 Assessment Package can help you

‘Whole Pupil View’ at KS3

The KS3 package enables you to triangulate data across different assessments gives you a whole pupil view of attainment, progress, potential, and any barriers to learning. Combination Reports instantly analyse data from CAT4, digital versions of PTE (Progress Test English) and PTM (Progress Test Maths), and NGRT (reading).

Retrospective KS2 indicators

CAT4 provides retrospective KS2 indicators, and the PT Series includes a transition assessment specifically designed for the start of Y7. These allow you to establish an accurate, impartial benchmark.

You’re also able to accurately assess a student arriving from another school part way through KS3.

Rich data and cohort analysis

Reports follow a consistent format and are easy to follow, providing clear practical reports at a senior management view, cohort view and individual pupil view, including key indicator reports to support transition stages. Individual student reports support conversations with parents, avoiding technical language and suggesting strategies for support at home.

Saves you and your school time

Digital assessments generate reports instantly, for paper versions of CAT4 and the PT Series, analysis is provided by our independent marking and standardising service, so there is NO extra workload.
