1 May 2025 – Alps Education and GL Assessment have announced a new partnership that will provide independent schools with deeper insights into student learning and progress by integrating data from the Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4) into the Alps Connect platform.
CAT4 is the UK’s most widely used assessment of reasoning abilities, helping schools to establish accurate baselines and benchmark students against national data. By incorporating CAT4 into Alps’ well-established progress tracking and analysis system, schools will be able to gain a clearer picture of student potential and progress over time.
From 1 May 2025, Alps will integrate CAT4 data into its Connect platform, offering schools the ability to:
- Use CAT4 as a baseline to measure value-added progress at KS4 and KS5
- Identify students, subjects and cohorts that may need additional support
- Highlight areas of strong performance to share best practice and celebrate success
- Provide teachers with a clear, visual representation of student progress to inform intervention strategies.

From 1 May 2025, through Alps Connect, you can input your CAT4 data to get meaningful performance data directly, enabling immediate access to enhanced insights without the need for additional configuration.
