The Progress Test in Science (PTS) provides a clear, independent snapshot of science attainment, helping you track progress and identify learning gaps at both individual and cohort levels. Standardised on over 15,000 students, it enables you to measure how your school and students are performing, student by student, class by class and year by year, while reliably comparing results with national data.
PTS can be used at different points in the school year to track in-year progress, identify learning loss between academic years and measure the impact of teaching. Available in both paper and digital formats, it also provides SATs and GCSE indicators, helping you understand if students are on track for key milestones.
PTS measures knowledge and understanding of science, as well as students’ application of this knowledge. Their ability to work scientifically is also assessed. Reports offer detailed insights supporting targeted interventions and curriculum planning.
