Lucid Exact

Exact is a comprehensive assessment of literacy from age 11 to 24 and can be used as a screening assessment for exam access arrangements. It’s made up of seven tests to assess:

  • Word recognition
  • Reading comprehension
  • Reading speed
  • Reading accuracy
  • Spelling
  • Writing
  • Keyboarding to dictation

Exact is quick and easy to use, requires minimal supervision, and involves no marking or scoring. It provides clear reports and data which can be used in Section A of JCQ Form 8*, to demonstrate a normal way of working for exam access applications. Using Exact means you can be confident that you're not missing any pupils with underlying issues, without having to pay for a specialist assessor to screen an entire year group. It helps save time by only taking the pupils who are eligible through the time-consuming process of applying for additional access arrangements.

Exact features:

  • Nationally standardised norms
  • Easy to administer
  • Takes about 30-40 minutes
  • Two parallel forms for repeated assessment
  • Results in standard scores and percentiles

*Please note that JCQ do not approve or endorse individual tests and that no single test can provide all assessments required for access arrangements. For details of meeting JCQ requirements visit the official website www.jcq.org.uk
