nasen, the leading SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) membership organisation for education professionals, and GL Assessment, the leading provider of formative assessments for UK schools, have today announced a joint partnership agreement, designed to promote good assessment practice for professionals involved in the delivery of education to children with SEN and other barriers to learning.
The partnership will include collaborating on professional development and training, research projects, and guidance on how assessments can be used to identify barriers to learning and some special educational needs that can be supported in the mainstream classroom.
Dr Adam Boddison, Chief Executive of nasen, said: “Getting education right for children and young people with SEND is a crucial step in getting education right for everyone. Inclusive schools are able to effectively identify and meet the needs of children and young people with SEND, and so we are delighted to be working in partnership with GL Assessment to support schools across the UK.”
