The cancellation of KS2 SATS for a second year means the new Year 7 intake will start secondary school without any KS2 prior attainment scores. Following last year’s successful Year 7 Transition programme, FFT and GL Assessment will again be working on a joint service to support schools.
From 16 September 2021, schools using CAT4 will be able to upload their Year 7 and Year 8 CAT4 results to FFT Aspire allowing them to create FFT KS4 benchmark estimates for their new students.
This webinar will provide an overview of this year’s revised programme, including details on how schools can take part in the service. FFT will also be sharing their latest research around the impact of Covid-19 on last year’s Year 6 and 7 cohorts and showing how schools can improve support for this year’s new students.
The webinar will be jointly presented by Crispin Chatterton, Director of Education at GL Assessment, and Craig Whitlam, Head of Product Development at FFT Education.
The webinar will cover:
- What can we learn from last year? A look at FFT’s assessment and attendance research data for last year’s Year 6 and 7 cohorts
- How CAT4 can support your Year 7 students this year and the insights it provides
- The FFT 2021 Year 7 Transition Service – how to use CAT4 data in FFT Aspire to produce KS4 estimates for all your Year 7 and Year 8 students
- A look ahead to 2022 – assessment based ‘dynamic’ FFT benchmark estimates for all year groups
