HR Administrator

The HR Administrator will provide general administrative support within the HR team. The postholder will provide support to enable the delivery of a complete and comprehensive service to all GL Education employees. Areas of involvement will be recruitment, general HR administration, training, employee relation, performance and absence management activities.

The Role:

  • Support with recruitment activities to include posting adverts across multiple platforms, sourcing and screening applicants, setting interviews and providing candidate feedback
  • Assist with recruitment agency liaison as necessary, allowing some exposure to agency rate negotiation and agreement monitoring 
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team; Preparation of offer letters, contracts, general employee change letters, pension enrolment letters with the support of the wider HR team.
  • Employee referencing and additional background checks as required (DBS)
  • Monitoring of the HR email inbox and the XCD online requests for general HR queries (where you can assign to the appropriate team member)
  • Assist with the updating and maintenance of the HR, Payroll and Recruitment management information system, XCD
  • Provide support with the in-house induction program to onboard new starters effectively into GL
  • Assist with management and analysis of data relating to performance/ pay review and additional ad-hoc reporting
  • Coordinating office filing as required (hard copy or electronically)
  • Contribute to current and future HR projects and help implement new HR initiatives
  • To undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the HR department

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £20,000 - £25,000

What we are looking for:

  • Able to communicate confidently, concisely and clearly in writing and verbally
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under own initiative day-to-day but within the wider team
  • Problem solver, who can provide creative solutions
  • Strong administrative experience in a busy office environment
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint applications 
  • Experience in a HR or Recruitment environment would be beneficial
  • College or degree educated with a desire to obtain a CIPD qualification
  • Able to deal with confidential matters sensitively and in accordance with policy 
  • Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Able and willing to travel to other offices as required
