Events Manager

GL Education is looking for an experienced and collaborative Events Manager to join their Marketing team. You will ensure a range of events – from virtual conferences to exhibitions around the world) are planned and executed to the highest standard, to budget and achieve the success criteria set. You will work with the Head of Marketing and the wider marketing and sales teams to develop the strategy and direction for events in the UK and globally.

The Role:

Core activities include:

  • The development and delivery of UK and international events (both in-person and virtual conferences, exhibitions and networking events) from proposal to delivery to evaluation
  • Managing large scale events, such as our annual Global Assessment Conference 
  • Setting, communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities on every project
  • Managing internal and supplier relationships
  • Scheduling events for UK and international to avoid conflicting dates, ensuring trackers and calendars are updated with all confirmed events
  • Holding staff briefings to ensure colleagues are fully aware of upcoming event requirements, schedules and deadlines
  • Coordinating, managing and executing the invitation process for events and webinars
  • Ensuring that contingencies are in place for all events and other potential last-minute changes that will require to trouble-shoot and adapt
  • Managing and taking responsibility for the events budget, working with the Marketing Managers to inform annual budget proposals, tracking events spend on the tracking spreadsheet and ensuring both value for money 
  • Tracking and reporting on the planning, delivery and evaluation of events
  • Ensuring that the CRM system is kept up-to-date in terms of event-related activities
  • Researching future live and virtual events

Critically analysing the success and learnings of events, feeding into monthly reporting and also presenting termly to the Sales and Marketing Director and Head of Marketing

Location: Brentford and Home-Based (Hybrid)

Hours: Permanent Full time, 37.5 hours per week

What we are looking for:

  • Proven track record at delivering and executing events and projects as well as managing an events department (Minimum 3 year’s experience)
  • Leadership skills
  • Excellent organisational, planning, time management and project management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, present and negotiate at all levels
  • Process driven, logical and has meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to instil a high level of credibility and build relationships with suppliers and internal teams quickly
  • Collaborative approach- happy to support GL customer facing teams 
  • Flexible approach; ability to adapt to different situations and requirements
  • Focused and disciplined and ability to work under pressure 
  • Enthusiastic approach with the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
  • A positive outlook with desire to learn and embrace new challenges
  • Full UK driving licence
