Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

GL Education are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join their Tech team! Therole involves working with everyone in the Technology department; engaging with developers, infrastructure engineers, analysts, and managers to speed up our engineering teams and increase our level of automation through the development of smarter monitoring and software tools.

Working as part of a small team you will be responsible for the ongoing administration of the cutting-edge online platform and the continuous improvement and refinement of the DevOps strategy. 

This will be an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer or an engineer from another discipline such as software development to get stuck into some interesting engineering problems. A successful candidate will have a strong desire to learn and be willing to take ownership of their work.

The Role:

The role:

  • Designing and developing infrastructure-as-code for delivering and running performant and scalable environments.
  • Designing, developing and implementing tooling that ensures software stability and scalability.
  • Developing deployment and testing pipelines.
  • Providing support for our production cloud-based workloads, predominantly hosted in Azure.
  • Willing to mentor Junior DevOps Engineers & other technical specialists around DevOps technologies and solutions.

Location: Houghton-Le-Spring

Hours: Permanent Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum

  • First-hand experience of end to end development lifecycle
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficient scripting skills, powershell, bash etc.
  • In depth knowledge of GIT
  • Experience of SQL Databases
