Flying Start and the Schedule of Growing Skills

Updates

After consultation with the All Wales Speech and Language Therapy Committee, a small section of the Schedule of Growing Skills Record Form has been amended.

Please note that the phrase “Comprehension” has been replaced by “Concepts” within the section on “Additional Skills”.

It was felt that this phrase is more relevant to the skills being tested in items 180 (Names all 4 colours) and 181 (Names all 3 shapes) and is more complementary to the professional advice and training being supplied by speech and language therapists.

Please note that this amendment has been made in the Record Form only; the Profile Form and User’s Guide remain unchanged. The amendment also has no effect on the scoring procedure.
