Overview
GL Assessment uses Testwise, an online assessment service, to run its digital assessments. Testwise is designed to take the hard work out of administering, scoring and analysing tests. Testwise:
- provides comprehensive online tests for schools.
- handles complex reports and analysis generated by a wide range of tests, including standardised assessment.
- is compatible with school Management Information Systems such as SIMS, so pupil names or class groups can be instantly uploaded to help with test administration.
- is a robust and secure platform for GL Assessment’s market-leading assessments, such as the Cognitive Abilities Test, Progress in Maths, and the Suffolk Reading Scale.
How does Testwise work?
- Pupils select from multiple-choice options, dragging and dropping items and manipulating onscreen graphics.
- Test scores and detailed diagnostic pupil reports are delivered instantly, allowing teachers to evaluate pupils’ needs immediately – saving teachers time and identifying exactly what pupils do and don’t know.
- Reports provide raw/standardised age score, a current National Curriculum level and indicative National Test levels for each pupil.
- Teachers can create their own tests to suit the needs of their class: the QCA Digital Test Bank has 3,000 curriculum-linked assessment questions which teachers can draw on to create their own tests, using the in-built authoring tool.
- Testwise is fully compatible with a school’s Management Information System, so pupil names or class groups can be instantly uploaded to help with test administration: hundreds of names can be uploaded in a moment.
- Test results can be exported for record keeping or further analysis, saving time for busy teachers and assessment co-ordinators.
