Introduction
GL
Assessment has developed a powerful online testing system that has
now delivered over 2.4 million online tests to schools in the UK and
over 70 countries worldwide. These tests are just as robust and valid
as their paper-based equivalent, yet the system offers benefits such
as greater flexibility, instant scoring and reporting, and increased
motivation for pupils.
The pages in this section explain the benefits of online assessment for both pupils and teachers and outline each of GL Assessment's online assessments currently available via the Testwise portal.
See our Glossary of assessment terms covering the terms used on this site.
The Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) and the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA), have complied a glossary of terms used in e-assessment, for wide range of education professionals who may not have specialist knowledge of e-assessment but who need an understanding of terms used in e-assesssment.

Benefits
Our digital assessments deliver results the moment the tests are
completed. There’s no marking, no administration, no waiting,
no fuss.
Results are pin-point accurate. Analysis is instant. This gives teachers
more time to review the reports and take appropriate action.
The immediacy of the results makes them more meaningful to pupils.
Most reports provide:
- Individual and group analysis
- Raw and standardised age scores
- A current National Curriculum level
- Indicative National Test levels
- Question-by-question breakdown
- Results process by category
