Further Education Reasoning Test
The Further Education Reasoning Test is a computer based standardised assessment that measures key cognitive abilities and can be used to identify student potential and learning styles. It is based on the popular Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT) but is shorter and the test takes around 80 minutes to complete in a single testing session.
This digital test measures the three principal forms of reasoning – verbal, non-verbal and quantitative, allowing you to test the full range of abilities. It can assess potential for students who are entering, or are in 6th form, Further or Higher Education colleges. The results give you an indication of how your students assimilate new information and highlight their thinking skills above and beyond their formal literacy and mathematical abilities.
The test outputs standardised scores allowing you to compare your students’ results with the national average. It also provides a diagnostic profile of relative cognitive strengths and weaknesses and is ideal for assessing the abilities of students with English as an additional language or dyslexia.
Ages: For pupils aged 16+
