
Following the ‘sell out’ success of our first “Getting it right for every pupil” conference designed to support teachers and SENCOs in the use of our Special Needs Assessments last month, we are delighted to announce the date of the second event on Wednesday 13th October 2010 at The Queens Hotel in Leeds.
Getting it right for every pupil: The role of assessment in supporting additional educational needs - A one-day conference, incorporating a series of presentations by leading authorities in special educational needs, including Dr John Rack, member of the Rose Review Expert Advisory Group.
The programme will include:
- “Understanding and assessing enjoyment and happiness in schools” – John Ivens, Acting Principal Educational Psychologist and Executive Headteacher, The Bethlem and Maudsley Hospital School
- “How to identify specific patterns of reading difficulties in primary school pupils” - Dr Sue Stothard, Post Doctoral Research Fellow, Centre for Reading and Language, Department of Psychology, University of York
- The use of GL Assessment’s Dyslexia Portfolio in Birmingham - Ronnie Shoebotham, Learning Support Teacher and IT Consultant, Pupil and School Support Services, Birmingham Local Authority.
